One year Later

If you enjoyed PJ, you might enjoy this blog as well.
But I make no promises.

(500) Days of PJ

I mentioned in my previous post that PJ has reached a milestone.

I started blogging in grade 11 or 12, hopping around a few different places before settling down on Blogger, October '07. I've been writing fairly regularly since then, mostly just on random events and thoughts about my life...it has always been fun, and I've enjoyed having an audience of family and friends to share pictures, anecdotes, and stupid quizzes with. Reading the comments you guys leave for me is something I always look forward to- you are all so funny! My nerdy blogging soul is thrilled to have 13 "followers" and numerous lurkers to call my own...

I have a confession to make, though.
From the start, PJ has been a primarily selfish endeavor. I write for my own enjoyment. Even when I didn't think anyone read me, I wrote anyway...just for kicks. I write about stuff that I find interesting or funny. I mean, really...no one wants to see pictures of my warts up close. That is something I did because I thought it was hilarious and gross (I'm in the process of exterminating them for good, by the way...Dr Scholl's Dual Action Freezing kit might be the magic trick).

The moral of the story is this: I always knew that the day I didn't enjoy blogging would be the day I stopped blogging. I didn't really expect that day would come. At least not this soon.

A while ago I had a thought:

"Maybe I should delete my blog."

I considered it for a while, and decided not to. I figured when I got over the busy period in my life I would get back in the groove.

But...I started thinking along those lines more frequently. It was weird. I have never felt so apathetic about my blog before. I kept asking myself if this was just a "stage" that I was going through. I mean, everyone goes through the Blogging Blahs now and then.
But this isn't that.
My blog has become a chore to me. I feel guilty about not writing in it, but I have zero desire to blog about anything. I don't get any enjoyment out of it, and for the first time since I started, I'm okay with the idea of Life Without PJ.

So I guess this is it.

I have reached the 500th post on PJ...and it will be the last one.

Well, I won't say that. Who knows...in theory, I could have a change of heart and be back next week. But I don't think I will. In fact I seriously doubt it. I think this blog has run its course. Maybe one day I will start a new one, when I have something to say to the world...but for now, I'm going to pursue other hobbies and interests. Most likely I'll still be around, commenting on your blogs and keeping up with things, but this is the end of the road for PJ.

Its time for me to end this blog's slow and painful death. Its been dragging out too long already.
Its kind of sad, but kind of freeing.

I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing.
Its been fun.

Your bloggy friend,

PJ

Coming Soon

I'm allliiiiiiivvvvee! I survived these past 3 weeks of insanity, though I am a bit frazzled and frayed.
A few minutes ago I did my 3 internet stops: email, Facebook, blogs...and discovered that very little has gone on in my absence. Not that I've abadoned them entirely, but I've definitely cut back. Looks like I haven't missed out on too much.
Interestingly I haven't missed blogging much either. I don't know how I feel about that.
Lately I haven't had the energy to put any effort into it, so maybe now that I've quit my cleaning job things will begin to pick up around here. If not, well...I don't know.
I work tomorrow, and after that my schedule is up in the air. I'm hoping to get lots of work. But if not, there are plenty of things that have been neglected that could use some of my time.
This blog, for instance.
Have you noticed how this post is very disjointed and just blathers on and on? My brain has gone to mush. When I'm not at work I feel like I should be sleeping or making my lunch for tomorrow. Beyond that, my experience is limited....ha ha.
Anyway, moral of the story: I will attend to this lackluster little blog in the near future. I have some pictures of things I've done lately, an we're also nearing a rather large PJ milestone so I'll have to come up with some way to celebrate on here.
Until then...

8 Items or Less, Please

I don't know if any of you have been to Superstore since they started renovating. I just popped in today and was saddened to see they have changed some of the signage. I specifically went to the far end just to get a giggle over their health food aisle because one of the signs used to read "Glutton Free". Now its back to just plain ol' "Gluten Free". Guess those celiacs are allowed to eat as much as they want again.

Late

I hate being late.
It gives me a sick feeling in my stomach, and I get all panicky...its vaguely the same feeling I get when I drink coffee, which would be why I don't drink it anymore!
Yesterday I started my orientation at Overlander. I'd never been there before, but it looked very straight-forward on google map. I even gave myself 10 more minutes than I thought I'd need to get there.
Well guess what, I'm absolutely horrendous with getting lost. As in I can get lost between point A and point B on a straight road. I found Overlander no problem. And then I promptly walked right past the main entrance by accident, and began wandering the grounds thinking, "Where the heck am I?" and "Why is this so hard to find?".
I ended up walking straight into one of the living room areas at the back of the facility, turning on my heel and walking right back out, and then ending up at a completely different building. I thought the sign said Overlander Administration, but apparently that was for something else. I went to some kind of Ministry of such-and-such building, and was completely surprised when my friend Steve opened the door for me. Apparently he works there or is training or something...I was very confused. He said he saw my car (probably saw me wandering around like a dweeb, too) and pointed me in the right direction. Which was basically right beside where I parked.
To get to the point, I was late for my first day of orientation, and the worried anxious feeling has not gone away yet. I keep getting little panicky lurches, and frantically searching for the nearest clock to make sure I'm not late again today!

And now I bid you a fond farewell until later this week. I am beginning a work marathon starting at 11. I go straight from work to my cleaning job, then home to sleep for not-enough-hours, then getting up at 5am to work at Overlander again. Then cleaning again at 6pm. Then working at 6am. Fun times!

Hopefully it will go by fast.

Week End

Well, my 60+ hr workweek is over at last!
It actually went by really fast...I didn't even have time to think. Just eat, sleep, and work. Sometimes I had to cut back on the first two :P
This week will be a little less hectic, since tomorrow is free minus a couple hours cleaning in the evening, and I'm only scheduled to work four days (so far) at my new job. Then payday!!! Which will hopefully make it all worthwhile.

Ps. Let it be known that my mom's cat, Buddy, is a freakish animal with a weird obsession with crinkly plastic. I hate it. I just discovered that he pulled out a bunch of wrappers and tags and stuff from my garbage and dragged it all over my floor. UGH. Going to bed now. I'm too tired to deal with him, or even write a blog post that makes any sense. Goodnight.

Day 5 and Counting

Well, my first week at my new job is almost over! I actually have been scheduled to come in tomorrow at noon, as well. Day 6! Its been a while since I've worked so much, but I have to say so far I am enjoying it. There are nice things about working part-time, but I was pretty sick of looking for things to occupy myself with, and feeling like I was wasting precious $-making time these past few months. Soooo...its good to be busy.

It has been a big workload with continuing my part-time cleaning job on top of this new job, and I'm beginning to feel like I don't have time to keep up with LIFE...so I don't know how long I'm going to last as far as that goes.

My training has been going well, and I'm finally starting to "get it". I managed a lot of my "training" shift without much/any supervision, and I'm beginning to learn my way around the hospital.

At first I was a little freaked out to find out that we deliver the food to the patients' beside, because lets face it...when it comes to hospitals and illness and people in hospital gowns, I'm really, really wimpy. Hospitals freak the crap out of me, actually. I'm over my initial shock though, and now I just I never want to be admitted to the hospital. Ever. Not even to have a baby.

The ladies I work with are mostly 20+ years older than me, and pretty hilarious. As the one other girl my age put it, working here "is like being in a big chicken coop". Complete with squawks, squabbles, and a pecking order. Most of them are pretty funny, but I know that I'm going to have to catch myself from falling into their habits of gossiping, complaining, and talking about nothing but what's on sale at the grocery store.

Anyway, I do not have to clean tonight, so the evening is my own for the first time this week! I have some things to do, so this post is going to end now. Hope all you bloggy friends are doing well, I've missed doing my regular daily readings!
Until later-
